I have to describe you the process I used to make it as it's not strictly straight live stuff. I recorded yesterday about fifty minutes of an improvisation, during which I gave myself the possibility to start again some loops until I felt it ok, step by step, by just erasing and recording in the current loops (I mean by replacing stuff I didn't want with silence before filling again the loops), so I guess you can call it "composition with looper" more than live performance, but of course I didn't change anything in the music as it came, just removed the redundant parts and did some editing to make it listenable. The piece by itself is under the influence of The Art Ensemble of Chicago I think (especially the concert they gave at the University of Chicago when they came back from Europe), with a sort of epileptic McCoy Tyner at the piano. It involved a drum set, a cornet, a cello, a midi piano and a gramophone, no effect are used, I just used a lot of Autoreplace with matrix refeeding which keep the loop evolving randomly, and a kind of granular function coupled with the speed of the loopers for the weird stuff. That's all folks, I hope you'll like it and that it doesn't break the divine rules of Looper's Delight.

In 1981 I was with my father in a Tangerine Dream concert in the Stadthalle Bremen. This piece of music brought both memories of this event and a very fresh note on top. Wonderful music beyond time and technology. erik maronde
